Guanacaste Turtle Watching Experience

From USD $65.00
  • Duration: 3 Hours (approx.)
  • Location: Tamarindo, Guanacaste
  • Product code: PFXTQS

After our drive to the protected areas, We will go on a 5-35 minute walk on the beach surroundings until we arrive at the nest of two of the eight species of sea turtles in the world (Leatherbacks and/or Pacific Green Turtles).  Once on the beach, while you admire the stunning sky totally full of stars or the light from a beautiful full moon, your guide will try to spot a turtle within the different beaches.

Depending on the environment such as weather, tides, or moon it is possible to experience the whole nesting process. From the moment the turtles come out of the water to how they build their nest and lay their eggs. Your guide will cover information regarding the area, turtle facts, and behavior. The moment when the baby turtles start hatching and make it to the sea happens approximately 60 days after the turtle lays their eggs, so it's all about timing and luck. We will be prepared if this is one of those nights!
