Of the 200 volcanic cones that exist in Costa Rica, Cerro Tortuguero is considered an inactive volcano. This hiking will lead us to the highest point of the entire Caribbean coast.
With its 119 meters high, located in the foothills of the community of San Francisco, Cerro Tortuguero is an ancient volcano that currently constitutes the highest point of this region of the Costa Rican Caribbean.
Leaving by boat from the village of tortuguero we will go to the community of San Francisco where the hill is accessed. The height is enough to enjoy a panoramic view of the Tortuguero canals, the rainforest, the lagoons and the coasts of the Caribbean Sea.
Charge energies and get ready for this beautiful adventure, during the guided tour it is possible to find three-toed sloths, tapirs, basilisks (a species of lizard that runs on the water), iguanas, birds of all kinds (in Tortuguero there are 405 species) and monkeys (Howler or Congo, Spider and White-faced).
